Future-Proofing Government Networks for Resiliency

The Social Security Administration (SSA) started its cloud journey in 2015 with the implementation of AWS. In conjunction they worked to develop a new cloud infrastructure organization to manage governance, standards, processes, and day-to-day operations for their cloud environments. They quickly recognized the need for a tool to support their cloud operations and effectively implement their standards and processes. They partnered with Accenture Federal Services and ServiceNow to implement the IT Operations Management Cloud Provisioning and Governance module (also known as Cloud Management Platform or CMP). With this implementation, SSA provides a quick and easy Service Catalog for project teams to request AWS cloud services, while providing governance to control costs, and ensure instances are safe and secure. They utilize the ServiceNow integrationHub to enable orchestration and automated provisioning of AWS resources, ultimately lowering operating costs for their infrastructure division, and freeing up resources to continue executing and expanding SSA’s cloud strategy. The automation allows SSA to innovate and expand their cloud service offerings, including additional CSPs. Join this session to learn how SSA uses ServiceNow to reduce the risk of the cloud through standardized Cloud Service Offerings, and cloud resource automated provisioning.
