Randall "Randy" Nixon

Director, Open Source Enterprise

Central Intelligence Agency

Randy Nixon serves as Director, Open Source Enterprise in CIA’s Directorate of Digital Innovation (DDI). Prior to this role, he led DDI’s Digital Futures team with the mission of finding private sector solutions to mission needs. Randy came to DDI after serving as Deputy, and then Director of the Office of Advanced Analytics (OAA), within the Directorate of Analysis (DA). In OAA, Randy worked alongside DDI components to advance and deliver capabilities in support of the Agency’s information technology and analytic visualization mission needs.

Prior to leading OAA, Randy spent much of his CIA career in the DA, focused on working multiple wars and unstable regions. Randy first joined the Agency in 1991 as a student intern, then served for five years in active duty in the Army, mostly in the Balkans. Following active duty, Randy rejoined the Agency in 1999.

Randy grew up in rural East Texas, and completed his BA in International Relations from the University of Texas at Arlington.
